We have spent quite a few days exploring the Salt River Recreation Area. It is so close to Mesa that if we don’t feel like driving for a couple hours we can pop down there and do a bit of walking, metal detecting and rock hounding! When Stewart came he and Karen were able to practice with their metal detectors by finding rusty nails, tent pegs, pennies and dimes. Woohoo! I found a Blue Heron and a turtle!
